Stavanger

Took a fabulous boat trip up Lysefjord and hit a beautiful summer day, about 20 degrees and sunny. Very scenic! The coastline here was very reminiscent of northern BC or Nfld. headed to Pulpit Rock which is a jutting flat rock, 2000 ft high that looks out over the fjord. We saw the goats grazing on the side of the cliff, cascading waterfalls a quaint perfect little farms. The destination was a little restaurant that served waffles and coffee. Found a new Viking and might replace Erik if he's not careful. Stavanger is Europe's best preserved wooden house settlement. Tried to check out the Emigration museum but it closed in apr so we just wandered in the market and up to the old cathedral built by the Brits in 1125. Lovely day topped off with another excellent dinner. Two days in a row I ordered creme brûlée Erik. We had a reception with the officers prior to dinner and the band there was excellent although I missed my dancing partner. Capped the evening with a relaxing blues pianist sipping our tea and wine.
