Last day in Norway: cemeteries at Forde

Checked out two small old cemeteries in the village of Forde, a pretty little fjord town. The last town our relatives were traced to was Sveio, right by Forde and I bet if we would have had some more time we could have traced more relatives. Ah well, a reason for another trip for one of us.we did find grandpa's nephew Haldor Severeid, born 1927 and died Oct. 30 2012.  In Forde gamle cemetery, Possibly we found the cross of sister Gurine, but the problem we faced was it was difficult to read the older stones and markers and some had fallen, and it was also possible that they had been removed as the law in Norway is that after 40 years unmaintained graves can be reused. Also it was heavy rain so difficult to read, and I think if we had studied our family tree better we might have pieced together some names of other relatives. They changed their names sometimes 3-4 times if they moved to a new town or farm. But everyone from around knew who they were.
We ended our tour at a monestary built in the 1100's. the foundations were still there and it was fascinating.
Peaceful and pretty right on the fjorde lies Forde gamle cemetery. With time we might have identified more graves or perhaps some living relatives.
